Child Locator Devices Give Parents Peace of Mind

12 October, 2009 (19:09) | Child GPS Tracking | By: Admin

The following is a list of 2 different kinds of child locator devices that you can use today. Two with GPS tracking enabled and the other uses wireless technology as you’ll see below…

BrickHouse has a child locator device that will immediately alert you with a loud beeping noise, vibration and directional guidance as soon as your child or loved one wanders past the preset distances you have defined.

The device will “home” in on your child or anyone wearing the “tag” or wristband. As you get closer to them. The directional guidance will get stronger and the beeping will get louder.

The person wearing the band can at any time press the panic button which will send an alert to the person who has the hand held unit.

This locator would be perfect for an outing with someone who has memory issues, a child who has special needs, and anyone with a tendency to wander off. The minute they pass your predefined “safe area” you will be alerted.

More information and videos are available at their website. BrickHouse.com

Amber Alert GPS has a more elaborate child locator. This unit is revolutionary in this field. You can receive the location of your child with a simple call or text. You can see the location on a map on your cell phone (if it is web enabled) 5 users can receive alerts via email or phone when the panic button has been pressed. You can set a safe zone, speed alert, it has one way voice monitoring, water resistant. This unit does a ton… You can attach it to the wrist, ankle, a belt, a backpack, purse, etc.

The text message that you will receive will give you the street address, lattitude and longitude and a website link to a map. This is nice because you don’t have to rely on a homing device, you simply know where your child is at all times.

You can define an area in your neighborhood that will give you an alert when the boundary is passed. You can also adjust this “safe zone” on the fly with a simple text.

Temperature alerts are also enabled. You will be notified when the temperature of the unit rises above 100 degrees and when it drops below 40 degrees. This is crucial when children are left in hot cars.

More information on this unit can be found at Amber Alert GPS

Brickhouse also has their own version of a GPS tracking device. This one is claimed to be the worlds smallest… A bit more expensive than the Amber Alert tracker though.

This unit tracks indoors and outside using cellular AGPS. That just means that they use Assisted Global Positioning Systems. They use local cellular towers to triangulate a position on the device. It can pull info from a cell tower in just seconds and this reduces the processing power that is needed so your battery lasts longer.  The battery will last up to 21 days. Pretty nice.
